Alina Palus is a German soprano whose voice has been praised for its „crystal clear and bright“ quality, offering a „pleasant back shudder through its gently vibrating warmth.“ Known for her precise pronunciation and emotional expression, Alina’s musical repertoire spans from early music to contemporary works.

Born and raised in Gütersloh, Germany, Alina initially pursued a degree in natural sciences in Aachen. However, her passion for music prevailed, leading her to vocal studies at the Conservatory Maastricht under Frans Kokkelmans, where she earned her Bachelor in classical singing. Currently, she continues her studies in the Master’s program under Yvonne Schiffelers.

Alina’s career is marked by a series of notable performances and collaborations. In 2019, she soloed in the Cologne Philharmonic with Jean Belmont’s Magnificat for the Kölner Kantorei. Her season highlights for 2020 included the premiere of a rediscovered and reconstructed Christmas cantata by August Carl Röse, composed in 1838, and a music innovation project in Vilnius. These experiences, alongside contemporary music projects at the Conservatory Maastricht, have opened new innovative pathways for her musical expression.

As a member of the extra choir at Theater Aachen from 2018 to 2022, Alina partook in productions such as Puccini’s „Turandot“ and Tchaikovsky’s „Pique Dame.“ She also performed in the International Opera Academy Jeunesse Musicales Germany’s opera choir in Puccini’s „La Bohème.“ Additionally, her participation in the European Opera Academy Lab in Vilnius allowed her to delve into contemporary music, leading to the founding of „Der Wanderer,“ a group dedicated to premiering new works.

Through choirs like the Aachener Bachverein, Madrigalchor Aachen, and Kölner Kantorei, Alina has gained extensive experience in standard choir literature, new compositions, and a cappella singing. She has performed under the direction of esteemed conductors such as Hans Leenders, Johannes Honnecker, Sigmund Bothmann, Rainer Timmermann, and Georg Hage.

Repertoire: Currently, Alina is working towards furthering her expertise in Lied and oratorio singing. Her repertoire includes a wide range of works by Bach (various cantatas, St. John’s and St. Matthew Passion), Händel, Telemann, Mozart, and Mendelssohn (Lobgesang), as well as both old and new music. She frequently performs as a soloist in the Aachen Cathedral and Anna Church in Aachen. She has also joined forces with pianist Lilian Phan as a Lied duo to prepare for various concerts and competitions.

Choir and Ensemble Involvement: Alina is a dedicated member of several choirs and ensembles. She has been a member of the professional choir Studium Chorale for three years, performing all over the Netherlands, including in cities like Eindhoven, Amsterdam, and Maastricht. She is also a member of the newly founded semi-professional vocal ensemble Aavocaso. This group consists of 12 singers and was founded by two young composers, Andy Janssen and Aljoscha Ristow, who have established their own platform to perform their compositions and collaborate with other composers.

Recognized for her outstanding performances and innovative approach, Alina has performed in prestigious venues across the globe, including Dubai, Venice, and Gran Canaria. Her future ambitions focus on expanding her concert and oratorio singing repertoire and collaborating with contemporary composers.
